This Committee will seek to continue communication with the Political Directorate, the Private and Public Sector Bodies. It will have direct responsibility for:

a)    Liaising and lobbying the government and other institutions

b)    Development of The Way Forward

c)    The Management of Press Releases and Media Communication

d) Monitoring of Jamaica 2030 Development Plan; SME Policy; Energy Policy and all other Policies and Regulations affecting the sector

Tax Policy Reform

This committee will have the responsibility of leading the JMA’s position and response to the Governments Green Paper and subsequently the White Paper on Tax Policy Reform.

·         Membership Development

This Committee will seek to increase membership and to improve services to members as well as to obtain funding from national and international sources to rebuild the Association and provide assistance to members. Tasks include:

a)  Training and seminars

b)  Membership recruitment & outreach to manufacturers outside of Kingston

c) Membership Assistance

d)    Identify and develop marketing and PR Campaign for members and the Association

e)    Oversight of the Buy Jamaican Campaign

f)    Dissemination of Information

g)   Development of Projects for funding  (Center of Excellence)

This Committee will seek to represent the interest of members in the trading arena and promote locally manufactured goods in the international and local corridor through:

 

a)    Monitoring of Trade Agreements and participation in Trade Negotiations

b) Regular meetings and management of relationship with Customs Department, JAMPRO and other Trade Facilitation Bodies.

c)  Implementation of Expo Jamaica

d)  Execution of the National Export Strategy

e)   Representation on the Foreign Trade Advisory Council and Jamaica Trade and Adjustment Team (JTAT)

f)  Coordinating the participation of members in international shows
