Function:
To conduct research and analyze economic and of interest to The Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association Limited and the manufacturing sector as a whole and to develop, identify for funding and manage projects to grow the JMA and the sector.
Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Collect economic data and information on the manufacturing sector, government policy, trade issues and current social, environmental, and economic issues to enable the organization to carry out its functions effectively.
2. Keep records of information collected to permit easy access retrieval and dissemination.
3. Prepare the Secretariat monthly reports on the work of the Secretariat and the President.
4. Respond to research requests on the economy and the manufacturing sector as required, to the Board of Directors and approved members of the Association as well as other clients.
5. Prepare briefing papers, reports, and other material required by the President, Board of Directors and officers of the Association.
6. Maintain contact with public and private sector organizations engaged in the collection and dissemination of data, and ensure regular receipt of such publications, reports or other materials as may be useful to the Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association Limited.
7. Conduct assessment surveys on the services of the JMA and other events and issues that impact the membership.
8. Develop and update a profile database of members as well as a by sub-sectors.
9. Identify and prepare project proposals for funding and coordinate and manage the implementation of projects
10. Attend meetings, seminars, etc. on behalf of The Jamaica Manufacturers’ Association as required.
Any additional duties related to the functioning of the Secretariat assigned by the Executive Director.
Requirements:
- A first Degree
- Project management training would be an asset
