In-store Promotions

In keeping with the objectives of the Buy Jamaican Campaign, a series of In-Store Promotions involving three supermarkets were held over two weekends in August and September 2005. JMA members and the Buy Jamaican crew came out to meet the public at SuperPlus Stores and at MegaMart, Kingston. The promotions were broadcasted live from Power 106 at each location. Minister Aloun Assamba, Minister of Industry and Tourism joined the JMA President and Deputy President at Mega Mart and participated in the sampling and interviews at that location. The response from members who participated was positive as it resulted in increased sales and visibility of their products.

The Buy Jamaican Shelf Talker was introduced to the public during these promotions. These very attractive advertising aids were designed to assist consumers in clearly identifying locally made products when they shop.
